To Tweet or Not To Tweet? That is one of the most common questions I hear in my practice:
Should we be posting "tweets" on www.Twitter.com?
The answer is a resounding YES!
You should be using Twitter to grow your website traffic, leads, followers and business and engage your customers.
To prove this point to some of our skeptical clients, as shown below, we did a "controlled test" during February using my own Small Business Coaching and Social Media Consulting website: www.dewpointe.com.

Can you see the 4 days that we didn't tweet on Twitter? They were 2/3, 2/6, 2/8 and 2/22...
When we didn't tweet the traffic went back to it's organic Search Engine Optimized (SEO) level... Additionally, in the first half of February, when we did tweet, it was only about 8-10 times a day... However, In the second half of February, we ramped it up a notch and tweeted about 16-20 times a day!
Do you see the differences in my Traffic levels from changing my Twitter activity?
Yes, there may have been other factors that explain some of these website traffic pattern changes, like days of the week or posting a new blog. In my opinion, this is a good indicator that you can definitely increase your website traffic by using www.twitter.com to drive new potential customers to your website or blog. But that is only true if you include a link back to your website in your tweet and if you offer something of value to your Twitter Followers.
